Image DPI Changer

Set the DPI of JPG and PNG files to 300, 600 or any value for printing, without changing pixels or quality. Runs in your browser, free.

New DPI

300 DPI is the usual print standard; 72/96 is for screens. Changing DPI doesn’t change the pixels — only the size the image prints at.

Questions

Does changing DPI change the image?

No. The pixels stay exactly the same; DPI only tells printers and apps like Word how big to print it. To get more detail you need more pixels.

A form asks for a 300 DPI photo. Is this enough?

It sets the value the form checks. If the form also has a print size, make sure the image has enough pixels — e.g. 35 mm at 300 DPI needs about 413 pixels.
